He is semi-retired but plans on continuing working as an Attorney during his retirement years on a consultancy basis. He was inspired to become a lawyer because he felt he always had entrepreneurial goals. His success can be attributed to his excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He served as Corporate Counsel for Kosair Charities and The Masonic Homes of Kentucky. His professional affiliations include Phi Alpha Delta, (Board of Governors) Norton Healthcare, (Emeritus Member and Board of Governors) Lexington Unit of the Shriners Hospital, and the American Bar Association. He won a Distinguished Alumnus Recognition Award from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1986.
